Sensors in plastic housings are used in a variety of applications and often in places one would expect stainless steel housings. However, Proxitron plastic housings consist of full potting and therefore are absolutely corrosion-free and reliable even at quick changing temperatures and in an aggressive ambient, as for example in hot rolling mills. Set the optimal sensing distance automatically at the touch of a button In 3 seconds
Inductive sensors with large sensing distances get influenced by metals in the surrounding. Therefore, the sensing distance needs to be adjusted manually before using the sensor. This can be done easily and quickly with the Proxi-Teach.
The Proxi-Teach function recognizes metals in the surrounding by one press of the button and sets the maximum possible sensing distance automatically. This ensures safe object detection and stable operation, over the whole ambient temperature range.

Proxitron has launched with ProxiPolar and ProxiHeat a further series of the inductive sensors. The electric components, in this especially for extreme conditions developed sensors, are encapsulated in a high-quality plastic case.
ProxiPolar sensors are perfect for the use from temperatures from up to - 40 °C and are therefore perfectly suited for durable outside installations. Proxitron offers several housing forms as well as sensors with switching distances of 19 mm to 200 mm.
ProxiHeat sensors are used at ambient temperatures from up to 120 °C. They are also available in different housing forms and with sensing distances from 19 - 200 mm.
With the new series, Proxitron defines clearly the sensors in plastic housings (ProxiHeat) from the proved high temperature series in stainless steel housings. The sensors in stainless steel housings are used, as usual, for temperatures up to 230 °C.

Monitoring of roller paths and conveyor tracks - 200 - 1000 mm length
Surface sensors have been designed to monitor moving objects for example pipes, profiles or stripes on (roller) conveyors. A surface sensor replaces a row of single sensors. Besides the high sensing distances the length and widths of the sensor depending on the application are crucial factors of the selection of a suitable surface sensor. In many ways, a can is something special. It serves as packaging method for the preservation and trade of food, it is tied behind wedding cars, or used by children as a tin-can telephone. Cans are light and practical, and opening is always easy.

Inductive ringsensors made by Proxitron detect metal objects inside the ring-shaped entry. In particular the supply of small objects e.g. nails or bolts is reliably observable.

The new Proxitron MX series is equipped with an RS 485 interface. Parameters are calibrated via the MODBUS RTU protocol or the included convenient software. In addition to setting the measurement range and a status display for monitoring the sensor, the ProSoft P1 software also offers optional customer-specific linearization, adjustment of the analogue output signal, and parameterisation of a fault alarm in case the set measurement range is left or the sensor overheats.

With the new laser distance sensor Proxitron sets new standards in path and distance measurements. As the best of its kind, it measures distances of up to 150*) meters, precise and confident. Even at ambient temperatures of up to 200 °C sensor model LMB 101 is not disconcerted given its stainless steel cooling housing. For lower ambient temperatures, the laser distance sensor is also available without a cooling jacket (LMA 101). On top of that, Proxitron's new sensor faces object temperatures of up to 1350 °C. Maximum performance guaranteed with LMB 101 for use in steel plants and rolling mills.

- Proxitron VSB infrared loop scanner
The new Proxitron infrared loop scanner detects hot material and measures its position with high precision. The integrated, maintenance-free CCD line detects hot material even under the toughest conditions. No matter whether it is a large slab or a thin wire. The loop scanner scans a narrow measuring area contactless and detects the exact position of wire, sections or rods even through dust and steam. With the analog output it is possible to adjust speed downstream as for example in the case of loop control, centre the hot material or determine the position of hot material of any kind. Furthermore a switching signal providesinformation on the presence of hot material in the scan area. Proxitron Infrared Loop Scanners involve little effort, either in terms of investment costs or service.

- Proxitron HDM Hot metal detector
Proxitron Hot Metal Detectors (HMDs) detect the infrared radiation which is emitted by hot material. When the material temperature exceeds or falls below a specific threshold (response temperature), they provide a switching signal; seen from this perspective, they are often called also Temperature Switches. A response time of less than half a millisecond allows the supervision of even very quick manufacturing processes in steelworks, rolling millls or in the forging industry.
