Digital LHD Cable LH-N088 SHIELD Vietnam

Shield Digital Linear Heat Detection Cable

The Shield Digital Linear Heat Detection (LHD) Cable utilizes fixed-temperature detection technology to provide a simple yet reliable method of sensing abnormal heat conditions. It offers effective overheat protection across a wide range of applications and environments, including tunnels, cable trays, warehouses, escalators, and other locations where potential fire hazards may exist.

The digital LHD cable can be connected directly to a conventional fire alarm control panel (FACP) as a single zone input. Alternatively, when used with a monitoring module or addressable switch, it can be seamlessly integrated into an addressable loop system.

Operating Principle

The cable consists of a low-resistance, tri-metallic twisted pair conductor, encased in a highly sensitive, heat-reactive polymer. When the cable reaches its rated temperature, the two conductors fuse together, triggering the system. The alarm signal is then transmitted via the interface module and the digital LHD cable to activate an alarm at the main fire control panel.

Digital Control Module

The Digital Control Module, UL864 10th Edition approved, enhances functionality when used with digital LHD cables. Key features include:

  • Simultaneous monitoring of up to two LHD cable zones

  • Independent alarm and fault outputs for each zone

  • Integrated display showing real-time zone status and distance (in meters or feet) to the alarm point

  • RS-485 Modbus RTU output for seamless integration with PLC or SCADA systems
